Setting Up a Safe Zone: Bringing a New Cat Home

Bringing a new cat into your home is an exciting milestone, but the transition can be overwhelming for a feline entering an unfamiliar environment. Cats are deeply territorial animals, and being suddenly introduced to a vast, strange house filled with unfamiliar scents and sounds can trigger severe anxiety and hiding behaviors. To ensure a smooth transition, it is essential to set up a dedicated "Safe Zone"—a quiet, low-traffic room such as a spare bedroom or a large bathroom.
